The Proposal

July 12 2024 at the Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel. Thanks to the smooth behind-the-scenes detective-like operations of a four person team Frank had ‘recruited’ (Moffat, Pauline, Mbula and Cyrus), Farai had no clue this would be the night. After a lovely dinner, Farai and Francis were taken on a tour of the hotel. The next thing they found themselves in a quiet magical place by the poolside lounge. Francis started to narrate their journey so far and what it meant to him, and to them. Francis then took the knee. At that point Farai’s mind blanked off and she doesn’t quite remember what happened in the background (like the jubilant dancing of the team of four, or the Hilton staff clapping and cheering them on). All she could think of was how joy- and love- struck she was in that moment. And, of course, she said ‘Yes!’. There was much dancing and celebrating at the after party that followed…
